These 9 works present the male form while hiding the faces behind “masks”. Inspiration came from dating apps in the gay community; a majority of users create profiles that show their bodies but not their faces. In these works I replaced the faces with masks representing information that would be readily accessible in their profile such as location, likes and hobbies. Though the physical face may not be visible, I chose to show identity and individuality through character. The background colors of these works allude to a pride flag when together, though these works can be shown as a group or individually.
