In 2018, I was commissioned by a costume designer and choreographer to paint approximately 80 costumes for a multi performance piece highlighting non-binary gender identity. After painting the repetitious pattern on the fronts and back of all costumes, the protective inserts retained some of the paint. When the inserts were removed from each costume, the fabric pulled at the drying paint which created varying shapes and tones. This series was created from the remnants of the project.
There are 8 large works and 11 smaller works within this series (6 large works are still in process).
